I am not a fan of Halloween. It’s not because I am a follower of Jesus or because of my call to ministry. I just don’t like dressing up.
But all that aside.
This day has a deeper meaning for me. It is Reformation Day. It is also the day I remember my baptism. I said yes to Jesus on this day 1999. It seems a lifetime ago. I truly had a portion of my life that I could say was B.C. (Before Christ) now I am W.C. (with Christ) though I can point to times that Jesus was working on me before I acknowledge him. I am thankful for a church (FUMC Miami) who natured and loved me. I thankful for the countless friends who have walked with me on this journey. I am thankful for all my mentors who walked with me when I heard the call to ministry.
So I remember my baptism and I am truly thankful.
Peace
MF
