Reading some Thomas Merton and came across this quote:

My Life is a listening; His is speaking. My salvation is to hear and respond. For this, my life must be silent. Hence, my silence is my salvation. (pg.124)

It struck a chord with my heart and soul. There is peace in being still. One of my favorite Psalm 46:10a, “Be still and know that I am God.”  How often are you still? Right now in the stillness of the house i hear the girls playing. Other background noises blaring. But there is a silence in the air, a peaceful silence. How often do we just be still in this world that demands us to be always on the go. Take some time and be still in that stillness you will find God speaking to you.
