Mindful Midweek 7.31.24

Focusing is half the battle, Go Joe.

  1. Right now as you read this stop. Take a breath and focus on your breathing for one min.
  2. Now take a look at Psalm 78:23-29 NRSVU

78:32 Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven;

78:24 he rained down on them manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven.

78:25Mortals ate of the bread of angels; he sent them food in abundance.

78:26He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens, and by his power he led out the south wind;

78:27he rained flesh upon them like dust, winged birds like the sand of the seas;

78:28he let them fall within their camp, all around their dwellings.

78:29And they ate and were well filled, for he gave them what they craved.

My Reflection:

What in the world was I thinking when selecting this Psalm? I mean it is the lectionary Psalm for this week. The more I look at it all I see is how God is in charge. How do we handle that? The best way would be to honor God through our actions and inactions. To acknowledge how God has provided for us in the best of times and in the worst of times. Just found this lectionary text one that made me go hmm…

4. Now take another deep breath and let the Holy Spirit in to work on you and through you.
