Mindful Midweek 6.26.24

Focusing is half the battle, Go Joe.

  1. Right now as you read this stop. Take a breath and focus on your breathing for one min.
  2. Now take a look at Psalm 130 Common English Bible

I cry out to you from the depths, Lord—
my Lord, listen to my voice!
    Let your ears pay close attention to my request for mercy!
If you kept track of sins, Lord—
    my Lord, who would stand a chance?
But forgiveness is with you—
    that’s why you are honored.

I hope, Lord.
My whole being hopes,
    and I wait for God’s promise.
My whole being waits for my Lord—
    more than the night watch waits for morning;
    yes, more than the night watch waits for morning!

Israel, wait for the Lord!
    Because faithful love is with the Lord;
    because great redemption is with our God!
He is the one who will redeem Israel
    from all its sin.

3. What sticks out to you most about this reading?

My Reflection:

Help me Obi Wan you are my only hope! ~Princess Leia

Where do you turn when you need help? Do you turn to God if so what does that look like? If you turn to other things why? I would love to report that I turn to God all the time, but I fall short sometimes. A lot of that has to do with focus, if i am out of focus with God at the center of my life things become distorted and when in need of help I do not look to God like I should. Still working on crying out to God.

The line about tracking sins, the grace God gives us is one that does not keep track of sins, that does not mean that there are not consequences to our actions see Genesis 3 to understand how God gives grace.

4. Now take another deep breath and let the Holy Spirit in to work on you and through you.
