Summer Time: A Summer of First

If I knew what I was doing, I would include the song Summer Time performed by D.J Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (That is Will Smith for all of you who did not grow up knowing this rap group). This is going to be a summer of first for me. My first summer with Laura, Ashley goes back to work the 2nd week of June and Laura and I look to have a great time together as I venture into the role of stay at home dad. It is my first summer of summer school classes at Phillips. I am looking forward to it. I am taking Pauline Theology and my first of 3 Supervised Ministry course. Where my supervised ministry setting is Chapel Hill UMC, I am going to have fun doing that, as I will get to learn even more about being a pastor. Another first, this will be the first time since 2000 that I will not be at a Camp. This is not too bad of a thing to be missing although, I do miss the camp experience, rather it be youth force or district camp there is a spirit about camp that you cannot repeat anywhere else. The only traveling I look to do will be two trips to Tulsa, one for OKUMC Annual Conference and the other for my weeklong class, which will take place after conference. Then there is the big trip home to Miami for Amanda’s wedding. This will follow my weeklong course. This is going to be an awesome event. Then after all that nothing besides playing with Laura and teaching two classes at MACU I will be just chilling and playing with Laura. Who knows I might try to do some fun reading. As I close I hope all is well, keep and touch and keep praying.
