Sorry Paul, I was not raised with Christ.

Colossians 3:1-4 (Today’s New International Version)

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Sorry Paul, I Matthew Franks was not raised with Christ. I was raised with Norsemen sports and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Nevertheless, Christ would approach me by sending a group of people whom I would come to mooch off at the High School Lunch Table. Out of this group a member would later ask me to come to her Church which her father was the pastor of. The Church and I came together like peanut butter and jelly. I would become a Christian as a 17 year old male. Since then I have struggled to set my mind on things above. At times I have lost focus and some adjustment was needed. That is when God seems to step in and reminds me that my focus needs to be readjusted. Before I became to know Christ, I would just continue to spiral down into darkness. What I have come to understand starting at the Lunch table is that when you focus your life on Christ then in some way Christ reminds you that your focus should be above and not below. So sorry Paul I many not have been raised in Christ from age zero to now, but I have been raised in Christ starting at a Lunch Table in High School. So may God be with you to help remind you that sometimes a little refocus is needed from time to time.

Grace and Peace
