Any day now.

So any day, little Laura Grace will come to be with us. It is an exciting time in our house. Ashley is happy that the baby room is completed. Ashley is at that stage where her comfort level is not too great. I am trying to do my best to help make it easy for her but not much can be done. Her due date is March 16th . Palm Sunday for you liturgical folk. I love Palm Sunday and Holy Week. The worship events that happen around this time are good. I do miss putting together the Stations of the Cross at Yukon. Every year it got better and better.

This week’s reflection from the Lectionary comes from Psalm 130

Psalm 130 (TNIV)

1 Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;

2 Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.

3 If you, LORD, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?

4 But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.

6 I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.

7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.

8 He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.

I am in time of waiting. Any day now I wait for little Laura to be born. I am about a year from finishing at PTS. I hope to start the commissioning process this fall. Then in June of ’09 hope to be appointed to my first Church. So I am in a time of waiting. During this time of waiting, I have worked on my prayer life. Really, I just looking for different ways for me to better center myself. One thing I have found helpful for me: was not to focus on one prayer practice, I cannot just do a journal, I cannot just do sitting meditation, and I just cannot do other forms of prayer that I have studied. I have learned to be different every day. This helps keep me fresh. I have found that when I did just one prayer practice my prayer life was not as exceptional as it was when I was being sporadic. During this time of waiting, I go to the Lord and just ask The Lord to be with me in every step and every breath that I take. Moreover, remember that through Christ Jesus there is forgiveness.

God be with you

  1. Just don’t try to spread coats and palm leaves to welcome little Laura — the delivery room staff will not appreciate it.
